Math Careers: Use Math to Become an Entrepreneur

Want to start your own business? Welcome to the world of math careers!

You might not expect business to be very mathematical, but knowing math is the secret to succeeding as an entrepreneur. Find out how entrepreneur and MBA student Adam Abderrahman uses math all over the place in the world of business.

How do you use math as an entrepreneur?

“I use math in every facet of my professional career. In process improvement events, I use statistical process control techniques (using math I learned in AP Statistics from highschool). When conducting root cause analyses for problem solving efforts, it’s common for me to utilize the applied calculus that I learned from my economics degree in order to determine not just correlation, but causation. The list goes on. You don’t have to be a mathlete, but a strong foundation in math will place you leagues ahead of your peers.”
